Biological Control Enlisted to Help Manage Emerald Ash Borer

The attached news release describes how stingless, parasitic wasps that target and kill emerald ash borer (EAB), a highly destructive tree pest that poses a serious threat to Colorado’s urban forests, will be released tomorrow in Boulder to help control the borer’s spread.

The USDA Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Region, is hosting National Bioenergy Day on Wednesday, Oct 22, at USFS Region 2 HQ in Golden, Colorado (near 6th and Simms). The focus for this year will be on how folks can use forest biomass to both lower their heating bills while also improving forest health at the same time ("A Conversation on Conversions"). SAF CFEs will be available.
